Fantastic news!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that, with the support of an investor, the community has bought the site of the pub to facilitate the community rebuild of our much beloved Green Man Pub.

This is a huge first step achieved! We are developing plans and will

soon be sharing opportunities with you to support and become a

part of this exciting project.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far — together, we are making the Green Man’s return a reality!

About us

Hodsoll Street and Ridley are two very small hamlets on top of the North Downs. Neither has a shop, Hodsoll Street had a pub, The Green Man but it sadly burnt down in 2021, Ridley has a church, St Peters. The area around the green is classified as a conservation area and our Village Hall is also situated in it. It is managed by an enthusiastic committee who put on a number of events during the year for the enjoyment of the residents and to raise funds for its upkeep and renovation.

The Hall is also for hire.
