  Village Hall Tidy Up

 8th June 2024

Following last years wonderful turnout we are reaching out again this year to ask Villagers to come and help us clean and tidy the outside of the Village Hall, garden and carpark. We are doing it in conjunction with The Big Help Out a nationwide scheme raising awareness of volunteering to make a difference to their local community. We will meet at the Hall at 10am. Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you.

Our lovely farmer Eric who supplies us with the Christmas Tree for the middle of the Village Green has plenty of pumpkins available. He is suggesting he can bring to the village a truck load of pumpkins. How about next Saturday ? Let me know if any of you are interested and I will organise it.

UPDATE as of 19th May 2023

The site has now been sold and the sign has been taken down. From limited information we have received we believe it will be rebuilt as a pub which is very unexpected but great news and something we have all been working hard to achieve. We are though still waiting to hear who the buyer is and the plans they have for it. We will give you more information as soon as we have had it confirmed but for the moment we should all rejoice that our beloved pub will be rebuilt with the heart of our community returned back to us.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Royal Big Breakfast yesterday morning. We cooked 90 breakfasts which is a record for us since the end of lock down. We hope all who came enjoyed it as much as we did.
God Save The King!

Two winter-flowering cherries have been planted on the verge in front of Park View as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative. One was provided by your Parish Council and the other by a generous resident.

To finish off the planting there will be a brief ceremony for local children on Sunday 26th March at 10:30am outside No 5 Park View, where they will add their own spadeful of soil and receive a small gift. We would like to see as many children as possible taking part, so if you would like your children/grandchildren to take part would you please contact Joanne Stamp at joannestampuk@yahoo.ca

Regards,

Frank Cottee
