Placed on the front of the Hall. A device that shocks the heart into restarting in someone who is suffering cadiac arrest.
You dont need to be trained to use one, there are clear instrcutions on the machine as to how to use it, you should follow these guidelines.

Collecting clothes and shoes. The foundation is a lifeline for animals of all kinds. Providing sanctuary to animals who become homeless or who have been injured or abused, and vital veterinary care to those on low incomes. They also pay the Village Hall when the clothes bank is full. The bank has a sensor so when it is full it lets them know it is ready to be picked up. Based in Cobham.

St PETERS CHURCH, RIDLEY
A tiny church packed with atmosphere and history. A fine Norman window in the northern wall testifies to its origins high on the Downs. It is unusual to step up into a church as usually the ground outside has risen over the years. Part of the civil parish of Ash-cum-Ridley. Ridley St Peter is an Ancient Parish in the diocese of Rochester. It has been designated a grade II listed building.

CHILDRENS PLAY AREA - IVORS FIELD
An area that was originally a field has been made into a simple play area for the children of the village. A goal and a basketball hoop for the older ones and a zoned off play ground for the younger ones. It has now a plaque to commemorate Ivor, who gave his field and time to create this play area.

THE GREEN MAN PUB
All food is fresh and prepared in house. The special menu changes daily with fresh fish, seafood, vegetarian options and meat from local butchers. Live music, quiz nights and evenings throughout the year. It is quintessentially an english country pub offering a great selection of ales alongside the traditional.
Their main aim is to provide a warm, friendly enviroment. They have a large beer garden and play area for children. Dogs are welcome too.

We can confirm we have put a community backed bid in to buy the land the Green Man pub was on. We have yet to hear if our bid is successful. We will keep you informed as to how we get on.
CULVERSTONE STORE and POST OFFICE
Sells Co-op brand as well as many well known brands along with local suppliers. Services ; collect plus, off licence, ATM, lottery, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat, in store bakery, post office, paypoint, epay, payzone, hot food and coffee. Also hold locally made frozen ready made meals.

HOLYWELL CARE HOME
Holywell Park is a large country house set in its own grounds offering 24 hour nursing, residential acre, the aim is to provide a friendly caring enviroment for older people. The home employs registered nurses, qualified care assistants, chefs, kitchen assistants and on site housekeeping and maintainance staff. Daily activities include manicures, maintaining hobbies, playing games, bingo, movie nights and themed nights. They receive regular visits from musicals and theatre groups along with visists to the pantomime and garden centres.

CADER IDRIS POULTRY FARM
A fourth generation family run farm that has been producing and selling fresh, high qualityeggs since 1932. Their eggs are produced by five flocks of Free Range and Barn hens. Selling other local produce such as honey and potatoes when they are in season.
Open to the public Monday to Saturday. Supplies eggs used at the Big Breakfast.

LONGFIELD VILLAGE BUTCHERS
The butcher shop has been on the site for 60 years and is mainly a family run business. Offering a wide selection of homemade Sausages, Bacon, Chicken, Turkey (in season) Game, Exotic meats as well as Barbeque meats.
Open Monday to Thursday 7am-5pm Friday 7am-5.30pm and Saurday 7am-4.30pm.

GLOVERS FARM SHOP
The Farm has been owned and run by the Glover family for over four generations. Since 16th December 1998 in addition to the farm and equestrian shop, we opened our butcher shop. Our cattle are all reared from our own herds. The cow and calves graze free-range in open pasture land thoughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn. During the winter months they are housed in large open straw yards, where they are free to roam but gives them protection during harsh weather.

About us

Hodsoll Street and Ridley are two very small hamlets on top of the North Downs. Neither has a shop, Hodsoll Street had a pub, The Green Man but it sadly burnt down in 2021, Ridley has a church, St Peters. The area around the green is classified as a conservation area and our Village Hall is also situated in it. It is managed by an enthusiastic committee who put on a number of events during the year for the enjoyment of the residents and to raise funds for its upkeep and renovation. The Hall is also for hire.
